What Is Soft Washing?
Softwashing combines a suitable cleaning treatment with low-pressure application and rinsing. The method is designed around the surface being cleaned. For roofing, it avoids the aggressive pressure commonly used on durable ground-level concrete.
The treatment addresses organic growth rather than only dislodging visible dirt. Application, contact time, and rinsing are planned around the roofing material and buildup. Shade, moisture, and tree cover still influence how quickly a roof needs attention again.
Why Soft Wash Over Pressure Washing?
A roof is not a driveway. Excessive water pressure can create problems for vulnerable roofing materials, including:
- ✕Dislodging protective granules from shingles
- ✕Damaging vulnerable or cracked tiles
- ✕Driving water beneath roofing materials
- ✕Conflicting with roof-care or warranty guidance
- ✕Removing visible deposits without addressing organic growth
We use low-pressure softwashing on roofs, with a condition review before treatment. If you have manufacturer care instructions or warranty requirements, share them with us. A cleaning method should fit those instructions, not promise blanket warranty protection.
